"Quarter Life Crisis" lyrics

THIEVES LYRICS

"Quarter Life Crisis"

I've been wakin' up, just hopin' for an exit
from my quarter life, progressing without direction.
I shamefully find self-escape through arson aimed at trees,
to silence the voice of my better half,
a subconscious choir screaming out at me,

"You're not grown up or old. Stop living like your story's already been told.
Sacrifice what you must. It's better than to live with opportunities lost."

And I'm such a fool for believing
that four years of lectures could give my life meaning.
Though knowledge is timeless and lessons are priceless,
no one could teach me the passion I'd need to believe
in the choir that sings,

"You're not grown up or old. Stop living like your story's already been told.
Sacrifice what you must. It's better than to live with opportunities lost."
